Green Habito is proud to be one of the organizers of the Nordic–Baltic Young Chef Award 2025, an initiative that aims to empower young people and local communities by raising awareness of the importance of protecting and promoting distinct regional (Nordic) food traditions, culture, and natural assets.
This mission is essential for safeguarding our planet, improving health and well-being, and strengthening local economies. The competition placed a strong focus on innovation rooted in tradition, highlighting the use of local and seasonal ingredients as a foundation for sustainable and balanced youth development strategies.
The Nordic–Baltic Young Chef Award 2025 brought together national teams of young participants from the Nordic countries — Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark — as well as from the Baltic region, represented by Estonia and Latvia. The competition was intensive, inspiring, and full of meaningful exchange.
We are happy to announce the winners of the first Nordic–Baltic Young Chef Award 2025:
-
1st Prize — Estonia
Team of youth from Narva Eesti Gümnaasium -
2nd Prize — Nordic Team
Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark -
3rd Prize — Finland and Latvia
Congratulations to all the winners and participants, and thank you for your passion, creativity, and strong contribution to the Nordic Food Transition. Together with experts, the young chefs engaged in important discussions on sustainable consumption, the transition towards plant-based food production and consumption, and the transformation of the Nordic food system.
These conversations and experiences are a vital step toward a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive food future.
Green Habito remains committed to supporting initiatives that connect youth, tradition, innovation, and sustainability for the benefit of communities and the planet.
