Network 2026: Fostering, empowering and improving cross-border partnership of the Green Habito CSOs network

We aim to strengthen and increase CSOs collaboration on the themes of SDGs by promoting sustainable lifestyle, green growth, sustainability & empowerment of CSOs in building the green future of the Nordic & Baltic region.
Welcome to Network 2026, an initiative by Green Habito to strengthen and empower civil society organisations (CSOs) in the Nordic and Baltic sea regions. Our mission is to promote sustainable lifestyles, green growth and empower CSOs to build a greener future. Through a series of trainings, study visits and a sustainability conference, we aim to create a robust network of organisations committed to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key activities

  • Feb-Apr 2026 – Local skills workshops with enagement of Nordic experts, conducted by each partner on how CSOs could play an effective role in achievement of Nordic Vision of Agenda 2030 by using holistic approch to Sustainability & new solution tools.
  • International trainings and study visits:
    March 2026: Kick-off meeting & I International Training (Helsinki): The meeting will be focusing on sustainable lifestyle, digitalisation and on Nordic Sustainable Economy – reflects economic and societal interactions. Meeting and training includes activities like: project opening, thematic trainings & workshops, high level public discussions, exchange of personal/organisational experience plus interactions with sustainably and environmentally friendly NGOs.
    May 2026: II International Training & Study Visit (Copenhagen) on responsible consumption, green transition, communication and networking and other selected theme and capacity building of CSOs) and Study Visits (in partnership with Aalborg University) – visiting key CSOs and institutions who are working in the sustainability field and who will share own experiences with innovation solutions.
    Training and Study visits outcomes: provided new skills & knowledge on CSO and communities adaption for sustainable lifestyle, green transition and organisation resource efficient management, communication, policy making, digital society, advocacy and networking etc) and new collaboration ties has been created.
  • September 2026: Nordic Sustainability Conference (Reykjavik). It’s a 3-day conference with diverse agenda of discussions, workshops session, practical experiences and presentation of project results (the political statement, necessary changes in strategies and implementation action plan), raising awareness on importance of social cohesion, integration at all levels of sustainable lifestyle and need of change of consumption patterns, investing in green agriculture, clean energy and environmental technologies.

Key results: The project seeks to drive sustainable, long-term social, economic and environmental impact aligning with the 2030 Agenda. By empowering CSOs, it aims to foster inclusive policies and ensure no one is left behind. Partners will conduct local initiatives and cooperate via the network. We expect this project to establish a permanent, active CSO network for sustainability that continues to share best practices, advocate for green policies, and organize annual events beyond the project’s lifetime.

Expected outcomes

  • Increased collaboration: Strengthened network of civil society organisations working for sustainable development.
  • Knowledge sharing: Exchange of best practices and innovative solutions between Nordic CSOs and sharing them with Baltic countries CSOs,
  • Capacity building: Increased skills and knowledge of CSO leaders and community members on sustainable practices and policy-making.
  • Youth Empowerment: Increased participation and influence of young people in community decision-making processes.

This initiative is in line with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Vision 2030 by promoting sustainable living and Nordic core values. It empowers civil society organisations and communities to be more sustainable and provides them with the tools and knowledge to work effectively with local governments and other stakeholders.

We are committed to environmental, economic and social sustainability. Our activities focus on reducing our environmental footprint, promoting green solutions, and addressing social issues such as poverty, gender equality, and access to education and healthcare.

We will use various channels, including social media, e-newsletters and local media, to disseminate information about our activities and results. Our project website will provide educational materials, personal stories and interviews to reach a wide audience.
